Appointed Conducting Faculty at DMICS
It is a privilege to announce the recent appointment of Nicholas Baker as a member of the conducting faculty at the Delmar International Composer Symposium. This prestigious event gathers composer fellows and internationally recognized composition faculty from diverse backgrounds, fostering collaboration and innovation in contemporary music. Nicholas will be responsible for mentoring emerging talent, sharing insights into the intricacies of conducting, and contributing to an engaging educational atmosphere. There is much anticipation for the opportunity to work alongside fellow faculty members and the composer fellows to explore new musical landscapes and facilitate artistic growth during this enriching symposium.
Nicholas will be teaching the fundamentals of conducting to the fellows, focusing on essential skills and techniques that form the basis of effective conducting. In addition to these fundamentals, he will be involved in conducting and premiering new works, as well as guiding faculty in opera scenes. Nicholas will also assist participants in the successful recording of their new compositions, ensuring they have the support needed to refine their artistic visions.
